After much thought, and the help of a kind stranger, Mädchen returns home. It is very late. Her live-in boyfriend is asleep on the couch. Suddenly, and without reason, three large books fall out of the sky and onto him. He mumbles, but does not awake. Finding no other option, Mädchen assume that she dropped the books on his back ans wonders just what the fuck her problem is. She then decides that she much be having relationship problems with her cunt of a boyfriend. There is no other explanation. She determines this to be the fault of her erratic sleep schedule, like many other things, and calmly goes to bed.
Mädchen's sleep is filled with terror dreams of throwing shoes. She sees stars come unhinged from space and rotate around the planet earth. Jamie grabs her by the palm of her hand and flies her around the cosmos, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. It is still daytime, mind you. They travel above the thirteen planets of the outer realm (east), past the red sand shores of Xo and the line dance academies on South Elflei. Mädchen is awoken by a sudden fear of her own mortality.
